Established in 1822, the college is conservatoire and a constituent college of the University of London. The college is the UK’s oldest oldest conservatoire granting musical institute. The Academy has around 700 students being trained in over 20 musical disciplines. The Academy degree programmes include several pre-degree courses, an undergraduate programme,a  postgraduate studies at Diploma, Masters and PhD levels.
